Question 1.  Football STAR to Hollywood STAR, what was the KEY to your success?

Answer:

The key to my success steam directly from my family's endless prayers for me point blank period. When I left for college my mom and dad gave me a journal full of kind words from family and friends. Every time I would come home for the holidays she would add poetry and words of encouragement for me and I would read those words to remind myself that I have to keep going no matter how hard times get. And I still have the journal and read it pretty often. I have my family, my friends and my city that are looking to me for motivation and I can never stop trying to elevate and represent them. So I attribute the majority my success to my praying family and friends without them I wouldn't be where I am today. The rest is just pure hard work, be sure to fall in love with the grind. Oh and I also understand that I don't have all the answers and that's ok because I've learned that nobody has it all figured out.

Question 2. Who was your Coach at Grambling State University?

Answer:

My head coach was Rod Broadway who is now the head coach at North Carolina A&T. One thing that he instilled in all of us was to finish, never get complacent. He taught me a lot about accountability, I remember my freshman year I almost missed the bus back to Grambling after the Bayou classic in 2007. I ran to the bus and he gave me a look that I would never want to see again, I made sure I was never late for the bus again.

Question 3. What position did you play with the G-Men?

Answer:

I played receiver both in the slot and out wide and I was also a return specialist.

Question 4. What advice would you have a future Grambling Football STAR?

Answer:

The advice I would give to a future Grambling Star is to think about all of the men before you that had the privilege to wear that G and represent the greatest university in the land. Once you get your opportunity to show case your skills, be sure to ball out. Coach Broadway used to always say "Don't worry, HELP IS ON THE WAY!" as a reminder to us that you don't get the job done, somebody else will. Enjoy those moments with your teammates, those guys will become some of your life-long friends. It's brotherhood bond that can never be broken and you should take full advantage of the opportunity you have now. Understand that the operation is bigger than you it takes a collective effort to succeed. Have all the pride in putting that G on. Enjoy the process and never take a moment for granted. Those 4 or 5 years pass by so fast and you'll cherish these times forever.

Question 5. What advice would you have a future Hollywood STAR?

Answer:

As far as a Hollywood star? Man, I wouldn't consider myself one of those yet, but soon.... maybe. I would say before coming out here you have to know yourself and have a solid moral compass. You have to really be in tune with yourself because it's easy to get lost in the sauce out here. For me, I had some friends & family here that really helped me get through tough times. I keep the good around me at all times and "Allen Iverson stepped" over the negativity. This is a city full of dreamers and with the right focus your dreams could become a reality. But just as quick as you get it, is as quick as it could be taken away so new get too high and never get too low. Remain at balance at all times. Cherish every moment and work hard to chase your dreams. This is truly a city where anything can happen at any time so you've gotta be ready.

Also if you could please let ppl know that they can hit me on social media for further questions. If they need words of encouragement they can purchase my mom's book "voices of my soul" by Desaree A Thompson available on amazon.
