Carolina
panthers' defensive line coach, Eric Washington and Doug Williams were both
coached by the legendary Eddie G. Robinson of Grambling State University. Doug
Williams is also a former head coach of the Grambling State Tigers football
team and the Super bowl XXII (22) MVP. Cam Newton will now join Doug Williams as
being a starting quarterback in the super bowl. Doug Williams said in an
interview with USA Today Sports, “They probably look at Cam almost like they
look at me. I wish I was the athlete Cam is”. Cam Newton initially attended the University
of Florida but then transferred. After
winning a national junior college championship at Blinn College, went on to win
a national championship at Auburn University. Peyton Manning played at The University of
Tennessee and has come to be respected as one of the winningest quarterbacks in
the NFL during his record breaking career.
