Eddie G. Robinson museum opening speakers Mike Tomlin, Kingi Knox, and Doug Williams in Grambling, LA

After the dedication, Coach Wilbert Ellis took Mike, Doug, the museum executives and me out to lunch. I reflected on the Dedication Weekend. It was the greatest honor to be around Hall of Famers such as Willie Brown, Willie Davis and NFL greats such as Doug Williams, Everson Walls, and Mike Tomlin. I learned HISTORY. BLACK HISTORY…FOOTBALL HISTORY…WORLD HISTORY! I admired how the sports world would help each other. Despite what team your colleague is on you help them to play their game. Mike Tomlin said, “You have to reach out to help someone like someone helped you”.

That’s a life lesson. No matter what the color of your skin.
