(Nashville, TN- May 20, 2016) Motown Gospel powerhouse Tasha Cobbs is having a momentous year as she has received her first award nominations from both Billboard and BET. The Billboard awards will take place this weekend in Las Vegas. Tasha is nominated in two categories, the 2016 Top Gospel Artist and Top Gospel Album One Place Live.
The 2016 BET Award nominations were announced at 12:35 AM and Tasha received her first BET nomination for the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award. The 2016 BET Awards will take place Sunday, June 26 in Los Angeles.
Tasha's current single, Put A Praise On It, continues to surge up the Gospel charts, poised at #2 this week on Billboards Hot Gospel Songs chart. Most recently, Cobbs captivated the attendees at the Congressional Club First Lady Luncheon in which First Lady Michelle Obama was the guest of honor for the last time. Guests included Ne-Yo, Timbaland, Monica among others as well as Cabinet spouses, Mrs. Janna Ryan, wife of the Speaker of the House; Mrs. Mary Kennedy, wife of the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court; Dr. Joanna Breyer, wife of the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court; Mr. Steven Hargrove, husband of the Attorney General, and Mr. Paul Pelosi, husband of the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
Tasha will also be making appearances at the Family Fest on May 29 in Columbia, SC; 2016 Odyssey Network Business Retreat on Amelia Island, FL on June 3; the Radio One Stone Soul Festival on June 11 in Richmond, VA; Chris Tomlin Worship Night in America in New York; and Praise in the Park on August 27 in Philadelphia, PA.
Additionally, Tasha released her new DVD One Place Live on April 8. The DVD is an accompaniment to her #1 Billboard chart-topping album that released last summer. Recorded live in Greenville, SCthe live performance DVD, spliced with interview footage, captures the singer in the purest form of her being in true worship.
